First, we\u2019ll discuss how Visimation has made it very easy.\u00a0 Then, we\u2019ll explain what to expect when you copy and paste manually from Visio into other programs.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/visiozone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/ProShapesArt_screen.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Using prepared clipart images<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Visimation network equipment shapes are free and we refer to them as <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.shapesource.com\/scripts\/prodList.asp?idCategory=51\">ProShapes<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 Other shape sets that we offer for sale are called <strong>GoShapes<\/strong>.\u00a0 We also \u00a0offer versions of each that deliver \u201cvector clipart\u201d in a PowerPoint file.\u00a0 These files contain one slide for each Visio master shape on the Visio stencil.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When you place the left navigation window into Outline view as in the adjacent image, you will see an indexed list of all of the parts for easy access.\u00a0 The title on each slide contains a hyperlink to the manufacturer\u2019s site for more product information.\u00a0 Note that the size of the part may appear small on the slide.\u00a0 This is because they are sized proportionally to one another so that you can combine images and they will be sized appropriately.<\/p>\n<p>Users can easily copy and paste from PowerPoint into other programs even if they don\u2019t have Visio installed on their system.\u00a0 These are called <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.shapesource.com\/scripts\/prodList.asp?idCategory=45\">ProShapesArt and GoShapesArt<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 If you want both the Visio shapes and the PowerPoint EMF files in one package, these are called <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.shapesource.com\/scripts\/prodList.asp?idCategory=142\">ProShapesPlus and GoShapesPlus<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Copy\/Paste manually from Visio into other programs<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_350\" style=\"width: 266px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/visiozone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/Copy_Visio_to_ppt.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-350\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-350 \" title=\"Copy_Visio_to_ppt\" src=\"https:\/\/visiozone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/Copy_Visio_to_ppt.jpg\" alt=\"Copy from Microsoft Visio to PowerPoint\" width=\"256\" height=\"171\" srcset=\"https:\/\/visiozone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/Copy_Visio_to_ppt.jpg 256w, https:\/\/visiozone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/Copy_Visio_to_ppt-150x100.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 256px) 100vw, 256px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-350\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Paste Special as .emf (left) - Copy\/Paste default (right)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>You may also copy and paste manually from Visio into any of those programs.\u00a0 When you do, ,here are some things to be aware of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In PowerPoint, the default Paste behavior is a bitmap image file which will not be sharp when you zoom in or enlarge it.\u00a0 You can use Paste&gt;Paste Special to select the Enhanced Metafile option which will be sharp.\u00a0 In the adjacent image, the label on the left was pasted as Enhanced Metafile and it is sharp.\u00a0 The label on the right was pasted using the default, which produces a fuzzy image when enlarged.<\/li>\n<li>In Word, the default Paste behavior is a Visio embedded object.\u00a0 While this will enable you to edit the graphic in place (assuming Visio is installed on the system it\u2019s being viewed on), embedded objects add quite a bit of overhead into the Word document and you may not want recipients of the document to be able to edit the graphic.<\/li>\n<li>Microsoft programs support the Enhanced Metafile Plus (EMF+) standard that is related to GDI+.\u00a0 If the program you want to use to open the EMF file does not support EMF+, then there will be some distortion to the image such as overlapping text strings and strange gradient fill behavior.\u00a0 We had some problems opening EMF files in Adobe Illustrator CS3 although we have not tested with more recent versions.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>You can also publish your Visio documents in PDF format.\u00a0 Interestingly, the images look perfect in Adobe Acrobat although Illstrator CS3 produced those text and gradient fill problems. <a href=\"https:\/\/visiozone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/ProShapesArt_screen.jpg\"><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"tweetthis\" style=\"text-align:right;\"><p> <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"tt\" href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/intent\/tweet?text=Using+Visio+Graphics+in+Other+Applications+http%3A%2F%2Fvisiozone.com%2F%3Fp%3D349\" title=\"Post to Twitter\"><img class=\"nothumb\" src=\"https:\/\/visiozone.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/tweet-this\/icons\/en\/twitter\/tt-twitter6.png\" alt=\"Post to Twitter\" \/><\/a><\/p><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> <img class=\"nothumb\" src=\"https:\/\/visiozone.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/tweet-this\/icons\/en\/twitter\/tt-twitter6.png\" alt=\"Post to Twitter\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-351\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-351\" title=\"ProShapesArt_screen\" src=\"https:\/\/visiozone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/ProShapesArt_screen.jpg\" alt=\"Microsoft PowerPoint file containing vector .emf images\" width=\"324\" height=\"243\" srcset=\"https:\/\/visiozone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/ProShapesArt_screen.jpg 324w, https:\/\/visiozone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/ProShapesArt_screen-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/visiozone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/ProShapesArt_screen-150x112.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 324px) 100vw, 324px\" \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-351\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Vector .emf images in PowerPoint<\/p>\n<p>We are often asked how to use the rich Visio shapes produced at Visimation in other applications such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Adobe Illustrator, CorelDraw, etc. There are several ways to do this.
